Kalki 2898 AD is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language epic science fiction film directed by Nag Ashwin . It is the first installment in a planned Kalki Cinematic Universe.
The film stars a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. It’s inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. The story follows a group on a mission to save a lab subject’s unborn child, Kalki, who is believed to be the tenth avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu.
The movie was a massive hit, becoming the highest-grossing foreign film in North America for 2024 and the second highest-grossing Indian film ever in North America. It was released worldwide on June 27, 2024, in multiple formats, including 3D, 4DX, and IMAX.
